I grew up in a small fishing village in Málaga, where the Virgin Mary is the patron saint of fishermen and has a small chapel by the sea. Once a year, the fishermen take the image of the Virgin and carry it out to sea by boat. Growing up surrounded by these traditions has given me a rather pagan perspective on Christian symbols. Just as Christianity appropriated pagan symbols two millennia ago, I am interested in reappropriating and subverting these images to explore themes of the body and mysticism.

During the bachelor in East Asian studies, I have explored the fields of aesthetics and religion. I am particularly interested in wrapping objects and the use of thread as an artistic action. Wrapping something conveys a sense of care, and I am drawn to the process it entails. I often use wrapping not to conceal an object but to highlight and protect it. The red thread holds a wide range of associations.

I have worked in Mexican graphic workshops, working with non-toxic metal etching techniques, and teaching printmaking and theory of contemporary art.

I have received extensive training in contemporary dance, physical theater, butoh and other movement disciplines. I hold a diploma in dance pedagogy.

I integrate all of these approaches into my multidisciplinary practice, which encompasses installation, performance, and visual arts. Since 2019 I am based in Berlin, Germany.
