In Rome, Crucifixion substituted the vernal equinox festivals. Crucifixion is a place that once symbolized rebirth within the natural rhythms of nature. Stripped of its Christian ideology, it represents a dramatic image of sacrifice, surrender, and resurrection. Lockdown Harvest explores the porous boundaries between Christian and pagan symbols.
